Growing up is a lot of fun. Childhood is fantastic and there are lots of memories to make. Are parents, we want to be there for our kids in both the good times and the bad, however, we have more responsibility than just that. We’ve got to put in place a foundation on which our children’s lives can grow. We must help them negotiate trials and have the skill set to navigate the obstacles of life. There are loads of life lessons for our kids to learn and there are many ways that they can attain that knowledge.
Get Them Involved
As life is busy and there is so much for us adults to do, one of the best ways of giving our kids wisdom and the ability to do stuff in the future is to get them involved. Whether it’s doing the shopping, washing the car, changing a lightbulb, or cutting the grass, get the kids to help and they will enjoy spending that time with you, seeing a challenge through from beginning to end, and also learning something on the way. You can also ask them their opinion on things, rather than them just going along with what you decide. If you are painting a wall at home, ask them what they think of the colour. If you are making dinner, work together to decide what you are going to have, hand over the money at the shop, and then cook it as a team. Getting our children involved is good for everyone.
Make Playtime Part Of It
Learning through play is a huge part of development. Children can learn via hands-on play and also pick up skills such as coding from games. Your kids might have a favorite TV show or cartoon. Imagine if there was a game that featured characters from that show and encouraged them with household chores. Well, there is! Check out this The Amazing World Of Gumball Tidy Up game. Not only will they have some gaming fun and downtime, but what they get up to will actually encourage them to tidy up at home. Whilst their bedroom won’t become a tranquil haven overnight, you might just see them taking a bit more care of their stuff. Perhaps you could even play the games with them and plant some extra seeds in their mind about being better than Gumball.

Other Life Lessons
There are so many life lessons to learn in our early years. Whilst our development continues well beyond our teenage years, by drip-feeding some lessons early on, children will be better equipped during later life. Whilst there are skills we learn and knowledge we pick up there are some inspirational lessons that we can put in place from an early age. These lessons include surrounding yourself with the right people, staying true to yourself, being honest, and that you get out what you put in. Give your children the best possible start and they’ll be so glad that you put in that time and effort.
